Trip to NYC Day 2

On the second day in New York, we woke up early to grab a quick bite before heading to a baseball game to watch the NY Mets (we bought the tickets in advance). We found a breakfast place near our hotel called Morning Star Restaurant.
We both ordered:
  • Eggs Benedict - poached eggs with Canadian bacon on English muffin; topped with Hollandaise sauce ($12)
  • Cup of Coffee medium ($1.50)

It was an extremely hot and humid day, around 35 degrees Celsius! Even though we were melting in the heat, we had an awesome experience cheering in the crowd!

We had pretty good seats in Section 125, Row 2!

We had lunch at the baseball game - burgers and fries yum!

For dinner, we ate at The Boil because I had always wanted to try crawfish and I found great reviews for this restaurant. As soon as we arrived, we were told that the wait time would be an hour... so we put our names down and stood outside the restaurant the entire time because all the shops around the area were closed. Eventually, we got called in and were seated near the front of the restaurant. The atmosphere was very trendy and live, with a fairly young crowd.

Appetizers:
  • 6 Oysters ($12)
  • Gumbo - chicken, shrimp & pork ($8)
  • Crab Cake ($10)
Main:
  • Combo of 1 lb of Crawfish and 1 lb of Shrimp ($25) in the Boil Special Sauce - potatoes and corn incl.
All the appetizers tasted very fresh and delicious!! My favourite was the crab cake because there were chunks of flaky crab meat, and the tartar sauce added extra flavour. The crawfish had a sweet taste to it, almost similar to lobster, and the shrimp were very big and juicy. My first experience trying crawfish was awesome and I definitely recommend this restaurant for crawfish when traveling to New York!
